Hispanic STEM Day Urges Immigrant Students to Lead in Science and Technology

Date: Saturday, September 16th, 2017    Time: from 9 am to 12 pm
Address: 1200 SW 136th Ave., Davie, FL

Hispanic STEM Day is a science fair project of the Hispanic Brinker Education Initiative and the Broward Public Schools to promote increased STEM education and careers in the Hispanic and Latino community.

Broward-area universities and tech-related groups are organizing to exhibit their programs in a Hispanic STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Awareness Day at Western High School in Davie as part of the upcoming Hispanic Heritage Month on Sept. 16th.

“Young Hispanics and Latinos have every right to dream heroic dreams and to take their rightful place in leading our 21st Century science and technology industries.  Hispanic millennials stand on the threshold of greatness, and when history is written about this Hispanic generation’s accomplishments in science and technology, it will be written in breathtaking terms,” says Mary Ellen Brinker.

The science fair is endorsed by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, Ten80 — a national organization for women in engineering, and Motorola Solutions. Hispanic Women of Distinction has also endorsed the BEI.
