On October 28th, 2016 Catholic Hospice will be hosting our 20th Annual Golf Tournament! This year’s Tournament will be benefiting Camp Erin, A children’s grief camp. Did you know 1 in 20 children will experience the death of a parent or sibling before the age of 15? Did you know that Grieving Children are at much greater risk than their peers for depression, suicide, poverty and substance abuse? Out of the 73,000 children that die in the U.S. each year, 83% have surviving siblings.

For many children, grief is a silent struggle that often manifests in behavioral problems, declining grades in school and separation from family and friends. Although everyone experiences grief at some point in their lives, it is something that many struggle to help their family through. Camp Erin provides children and teens age 6-17 the chance to attend a transformational weekend camp that combines a safe setting to assist the children in dealing with their grief, while filling their days at camp with fun therapeutic activities. Throughout the weekend, children have the opportunity to participate in music, art, pet therapie, trust activities, and much more. These activities are led by grief professionals and trained volunteers. The goal of Cam Erin is to help normalize the grief process while also teaching children coping skills that they can bring back to support them at home. Camp Erin is free of charge to all eligible children.

In celebrating 20 years of service, we are excited and committed to the children in our community. Please consider providing a Sponsorship, Foursome or Donation to support the free camp for children who have lost parents, siblings or gardians.

THe tournament will be held at the Senator Course at Don Shula’s Golf Club and will be attended by professionals from both Dade and Broward communities.

Thank you for your support!!!
