DID YOU KNOW the Florida Department of Health in Broward County (DOH-Broward) can help your family with your children’s health insurance through Florida KidCare? Whether answering questions, assisting with online applications or troubleshooting problems, our Spanish and Creole speaking customer service representatives are here to help.

Approximately 325,800 children in the state of Florida (38,552 in Broward County) do not have the health and dental insurance they need.  More than half of those children are eligible for Florida KidCare insurance.  Nearly 2.4 million kids rely on Florida KidCare for the coverage they need to put them on the path to a healthy and successful life.  Most enrolled families pay nothing at all, and many families pay as little as $15 or $20 a month for all children in the household.

Families who are not eligible for $0 to $20 per month coverage, may purchase Florida KidCare at the full-pay monthly premium, which is generally lower priced compared to other options.

Through DOH-Broward and the Children’s Services Council of Broward County, the program assists local families with all their Florida KidCare needs. Our customer service representatives are highly trained to provide assistance with all four components of the Florida KidCare Program, which include Medicaid, Medikids, Healthy Kids, and Children’s Medical Services.

Changes in 2016 mean children who lawfully reside in Florida and are not U.S. citizens are now eligible for Florida KidCare without a waiting period.

Florida KidCare coverage includes services such as doctor visits, immunizations, surgeries, prescriptions, dental care, vision and hearing screenings, emergency care, mental health services, hospital stays and much more!

The KidCare staff are here to increase the number of insured Florida children from birth through the end of age 18 and assure they have access to quality health care. With year-round enrollment, the time to apply for Florida KidCare is always now.

To reach one of our English, Spanish or Creole speaking Customer Service Representatives, call the Broward County KidCare hotline at 954-INSURES, (954-467-8737).
